Kejriwal Blames Amit Shah After Car Attacked At Rally, calling the Delhi Police “BJP’s personal army”

Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday alleged that his car was attacked during a public meeting in Hari Nagar, accusing Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Delhi Police of being behind the incident. In a post on X, Kejriwal said, “Today in Hari Nagar, the police allowed the opposition candidate’s men to enter my public meeting and then attacked my car.” He added, “All this is happening on the orders of Amit Shah. Amit Shah has made the Delhi Police the personal army of the BJP.”
Expressing disappointment with the Election Commission of India, Kejriwal also said, “Major questions are being raised on the Election Commission that the national president of a national party and its leaders are being constantly attacked, and the Election Commission is unable to take any effective action.”
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had previously accused BJP supporters of attacking Kejriwal’s car with bricks and stones during a campaign event on January 18 in the New Delhi constituency. They alleged that supporters of BJP candidate Pravesh Verma were responsible.

Verma, however, denied the allegations and said that it was Kejriwal’s car that hit two youngsters during the incident. “When the people were asking questions, @ArvindKejriwal hit two youngsters with his car. Both were taken to Lady Harding Hospital. Seeing defeat in front, he forgot the value of people’s lives. I am going to the hospital,” Verma posted on X.

The 70-member Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for February 5. While AAP is seeking a third consecutive term in power, the BJP is looking to end its 26-year drought in the national capital. The Congress, meanwhile, is struggling to remain relevant.
